ABOUT
SAMANTHA
Registered Social Worker, Psychotherapist
Licensed to Practice in Ontario
Hi, I’m Samantha — a Registered Social Worker and therapist who believes that real change happens when you feel genuinely seen, supported, and understood. Yes, I have the degrees and training (MSW from the University of Toronto, CBT Levels I & II), but what clients usually care about most is that I’m a real human in the room with them — warm, honest, down-to-earth, and not afraid to use a little humour when things feel heavy.
I work with teens and adults who are navigating anxiety, self-doubt, overwhelm, relationship stress, or that “I should have figured this out by now” feeling. Many of my clients describe themselves as overthinkers, sensitive souls, perfectionists, or people who have been “fine” for a little too long. I get it — and I’ve been there myself, which often helps the work feel more relatable and less intimidating.
I also support parents who are trying their best to understand and connect with their teen or young adult. Parenting through this stage is no joke, and sometimes you just need someone who can translate what’s going on beneath the eye rolls, shutdowns, or emotional overload.
Before private practice, I spent years in community mental health and nonprofit settings working with children, teens, adults, and families. What stayed with me from all those experiences is this: people don’t need perfection — they need compassion, clarity, and a space where they can show up as their full, messy, real selves.
If you’re looking for a therapist who’s warm, straightforward, and genuinely invested in helping you feel more grounded and confident, I’d love to meet you.
I’m so glad you found my page!
My Approach
I work from a psychodynamic and relational framework — which means we pay attention to how your past experiences, patterns, and relationships show up in your life today, and how these shape your sense of self, confidence, and connection with others.
Therapy with me feels like a real conversation. I don’t follow a rigid script or one-size-fits-all method — we explore what’s most meaningful and useful to you. When teens and young adults come in feeling misunderstood, stuck, or unsure of who they are, the first step is always to create a space where you feel heard, respected, and safe.
I believe that healing and growth happen in the context of connection. By building trust and curiosity together, we can explore:
how your sense of self and identity developed
patterns in how you relate to others
where confidence feels fragile or blocked
what’s showing up in friendships, family, or romantic relationships
This relational focus helps create deep, lasting insight — not just surface-level fixes.
For parents, I offer parent coaching and support sessions that help you better understand your teen or young adult, strengthen your relationship with them, and feel more confident in your parenting approach. We focus on practical strategies as well as deeper insight into why some interactions feel hard or stuck.
While my background informs the work we do, your goals guide the process. Each session is customized to meet you where you are and move toward where you want to be — whether that’s feeling more confident in your identity, improving your relationships, or navigating life transitions with more clarity and ease.
